I wrote this song when I first started writing songs. I'd sit on the Mississippi River dreaming about the places it could take you, the people you'd meet, and the adventure of a new life. That's where I got my love for writing music and telling stories. Down the River.

Lyrics

Midday strolling staring at the ground
Doing what I do best trying not make a sound
When a stranger came up to me
Said you’ve been looking down
There’s ways to get rid of those feelings and I can show you how

Follow me out to the middle of nowhere
I’ve got a place to show you if you got some time to spare
It’ll bring you all the answers
You’ve been chasing through the air

Down the river
The grass is greener
Life tastes sweeter
There’s always a new place to go
Down the river

When you think you need a new start ride it down stream
It’s always moving further it never stays the same
That's a lot like people how we all change
It sure moves faster when it rains

Be careful who you show this place that I showed you
Not everyone can handle the pace that it moves
But you were ready
To move with it too

Down the river
Grass is greener
Life tastes sweeter
There’s always a new place to go
Down the river

Down the river
Down the river
Down the river
Down the river
Yeah there’s always a new place to go
Down the river
